Eye Love Local!

Last week a collaborative partnership was announced between contact lens giant Johnson & Johnson Vision Care and Sight Care Group. In their announcement, Sight Care said they hoped that contact lens business will bring increased attention to their campaign, 'Eye Love My Local Independent Optician'.

The campaign is aimed at raising awareness of the benefits of local independent practices, and helps participating practices liase with local media to highlight the importance of regular eye examinations. Sight Care Group members are also encouraged to use their website site to stay in touch with campaign activity.

Sight Care chief executive, Paul Surridge, said: "Since the launch in March, we've generated a high level of interest from both consumers and independents. Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is the ideal partner and we look forward to their long-term involvement to help us to continue to drive the campaign forward."

Senior product manager of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care for UK and Ireland, Shirley Bovonsombat, said: "We look forward to working with the Sight Care Group to help highlight the valuable contribution independents make to the eye care market and provide consumers with real choice."
