Optegra Expands in Hampshire

Optegra opened a new eye hospital in Hampshire next Wednesday as
their latest move in what is becoming an impressive portfolio of
growth since their first eye hospital opened in Guildford, Surrey
in 2008.
The New hospital, based in Whiteley, Solent Eye Hospital will be
the fourth private eye hospital in Optegra's expanding portfolio.
They acquired two other hospitals - The Yorkshire Eye Hospital and
Birmingham Eye Hospital (formally Aston University Day Hospital) -
earlier this year, and have plans to open a fifth facility in
Manchester in 2011.
Optegra has invested more than £2.2m on state-of-the-art
surgical and diagnostic equipment for the Guildford hospital which
is the only specialist private eye facility of its kind in the
region.
19 consultant level ophthalmic surgeons will practise in the
13,000 sq ft facility, offering treatments for: vision correction,
cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease, age-related macular
degeneration and cosmetic eye surgery.
Tim Clover, CEO of Optegra UK, said: "Our new Solent Eye
Hospital in Hampshire is our latest centre of excellence in eye
care. It will offer the most advanced facilities and the best
surgeons to ensure delivery of the best clinical outcomes and
outstanding results to the local population."
