A question for a pharmacist

People these days feel more free to go to the pharmacy and ask
the pharmacist for advice if something bothers them with regards to
their health. Pharmacists have never played a more important role
in the health and wellbeing of the people in UK than they do today.
Statistics say that today almost one in six visits to a GP surgery
could be more appropriately handled by a pharmacist. Waiting rooms
at local GP's are crowded with patients who suffer from common
cold, allergies or stomach disorders. These kind of problems could
be easily solved by the pharmacist.
Pharmacists provide a wide range of services to deal with
minor illnesses and ailments and, in many cases, can provide
something over the counter to help ease symptoms. People are
advised to seek the pharmacist's advice as the first step and only
make an appointment with their GP if they have an illness or injury
that just won't go away.
Unfortunately some patients take the role of the pharmacist a
little too far. A pharmacist I spoke to the other they told me the
funny story of a patient that had recently visited her. A married
couple visited her pharmacy and asked to speak to her private in
the consultation room. How amused she was when she heard what kind
of answer they expect from her…The gentlemen pulled up the lady's
blouse and ask the pharmacist to judge if his wife is pregnant and
which month it was in! First she thought that was is a joke, but
the couple were deadly serious. The pharmacist answered that
unfortunately she wasn't born with the ability of scanning. Yes, it
looks like that some patients expect these days more than they
expect from the GP's….
