Responsible Pharmacist
As of this month (October 2009) the responsible pharmacist act
is now in place.
The Royal Pharmacuitcal Society of Great Britain
classify responsible pharmacist as the pharmacist appointed by
the employer, who is responsible for securing the safe and
effective running of the pharmacy.
The responsible pharmacist continues to be responsible for
securing the safe and effective running of the pharmacy during any
periods of absence.
If there is more than one pharmacist working in the pharmacy at
any one time, only one can be the responsible pharmacist. A
pharmacist cannot be the responsible pharmacist for more than one
pharmacy at any one time.
